Government sets up 586 dedicated COVID-19 Hospitals

The Centre has set up dedicated COVID-19 hospitals with a capacity of more than 1 lakh isolation beds to provide proper treatment.

12 April 2020 Current Affairs:Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced that the Centre in coordination with the states has ensured the supply of Personal protective equipment (PPE), N95 masks, testing kits and ventilators for the COVID-19 patients. The Centre has set up dedicated COVID-19 hospitals with a capacity of more than 1 lakh isolation beds to provide proper treatment. 
The Ministry of AYUSH has prepared a set of guidelines on respiratory health and to boost immunity. The Ministry has directed the District Magistrates to incorporate the guidelines in the district-level contingency plan. The Government aims to implement containment policy, containment action plan, contact tracing and clinical management of COVID-19 patients in a proper manner, as per process, in coordination with states.

Reports:
1,035 fresh COVID-19 confirmed cases have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours taking the total number to 7447, as on 11 March. Out of these, 642 patients have recovered and discharged from the hospitals, while 239 patients have died. 
Because of the rate of growth of cases, the Centre has directed the people to follow the lockdown and containment measures to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
