The announcement stated that the salaries of all those engaged in the fight against COVID-19 including doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, Class IV staff, Ambulance staff, Testing Lab staff will be doubled.

10 April 2020 Current Affairs:Haryana state government has announced that it is to double the salary of Doctors, Nurses and other medical professionals dealing with COVID-19 patients. The announcement was made by the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Highlights:
♦ The announcement stated that the salaries of all those engaged in the fight against COVID-19 including doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, Class IV staff, Ambulance staff, Testing Lab staff will be doubled. 
♦ It will be applicable until the coronavirus period ends.
♦ The state also announced that professionals will get ex-gratia benefits between Rs.50 lakh and Rs.10 lakh if they are not covered under the new insurance cover announced by the Centre.
♦ The move is to support and thank the doctors and medical professionals who are fighting this battle like soldiers and risking their lives to save humanity.
